It operates across 34 districts, 351 blocks, and all Gram Panchayats, improving the lives of over 7.1 million families.

Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana–National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) is the Government of India’s flagship rural poverty-reduction programme implemented by the Ministry of Rural Development. It mobilizes rural poor households—especially women—into Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and their federations, strengthening their collective voice, financial inclusion, and decision-making capacity. The mission supports access to bank credit, skills, enterprise development, sustainable self-employment, and skilled wage-employment opportunities to improve household incomes and livelihoods. In Maharashtra, DAY-NRLM is implemented through the Maharashtra State Rural Livelihoods Mission, popularly known as UMED.
