On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini (RMP), in collaboration with the Maharashtra State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MSRLM), organised the Viksit Bharat Nari Shakti Sangam – Rural Women’s Leadership Conclave on 8 and 9 March 2026 at the RMP campus in Uttan, Mira-Bhayandar.

The two-day conclave brought together around 500 accomplished rural women from across India, including women entrepreneurs, self-help-group leaders, grassroots changemakers, public representatives, and social leaders. It created a platform to celebrate their journeys, exchange practical learning, and strengthen pathways for women’s leadership, entrepreneurship, economic self-reliance, and community transformation.

The programme featured inspiring experiences from women working across business, industry, politics, and the social sector—including enterprises in cashew processing, textiles, self-help groups, waste management, and local governance. Key sessions explored the role of women representatives in local development, social and political transformation, women’s political journeys, family and society, and leadership for self-reliant rural women.

The conclave was inaugurated by Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, and was attended by Shri Jaykumar Gore, Hon’ble Minister – Rural Development and Panchayat Raj; Smt Rekha Tai Mahajan; Smt Dimple Mehta, Mayor of Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation; Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Vice-President- Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini and other distinguished leaders and representatives of RMP.

Viksit Bharat Nari Shakti Sangam reaffirmed RMP’s commitment to recognising the strength of rural women and enabling them to emerge as confident leaders, successful entrepreneurs, and active contributors to a self-reliant and developed India.
